10 Dec 2017
Melbourne, Dec 08, 2017 – Dr Werner Scholz, XENON CTO, presented Tools and Platforms for Data Analytics, Deep Learning and Visualisation at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology in Melbourne on November 28th.
Global weather forecasts are being greatly accelerated with GPU technology while deep learning, a field of machine learning based on neural networks inspired by nature, is providing more accurate predictions of cyclones, air turbulence, planetary waves and other critical events. Deep learning AI software stacks which can be applied to weather and climate research are now available on a variety of hardware configurations, from desktop workstations to supercomputers including all XENON GPU solutions.
