Lumina Launches Australia’s First Neuro-Inclusive VFX Training Program – XENON Proud to Be the Technology Partner
20 Nov 2025
Spectrum Films, in collaboration with Netflix and Bus Stop Films, has officially launched Lumina, Australia’s first neuro-inclusive VFX training program. Held on Gadigal land, the launch brought together leaders from the screen and technology sectors to recognise a significant step forward for inclusive pathways into visual effects and post-production.
The program has been designed to create meaningful access for neurodiverse creatives seeking careers in VFX. With structured training, professional mentorship and a best-practice support framework, Lumina aims to strengthen diversity within the industry and expand the pool of emerging technical and creative talent.
Throughout the launch event, speakers from Spectrum Films and Netflix outlined the program’s objectives, highlighting the importance of fostering opportunities for individuals whose unique perspectives can contribute to stronger creative outcomes. The inaugural cohort completed a hands-on VFX exercise based on Netflix’s upcoming Australian title “My Brilliant Career,” giving them early industry exposure and practical experience.

A central element of Lumina is the dedicated participant support delivered by Bus Stop Films, ensuring an accessible and well-supported learning environment that reflects global best practice.
XENON is proud to be the technology partner for this initiative, providing the advanced computing capabilities required to support VFX learning and production workflows. As Australian screen production continues to evolve, investment in inclusive training programs like Lumina will play an important role in building a diverse and future-ready talent pipeline.
XENON looks forward to supporting the program as it develops and to seeing the contribution this cohort will make to the creative technology community.
