Mellanox Now NVIDIA Networking

02 Feb 2021

XENON SystemsBack to NewsBack to New ProductsMellanox Now NVIDIA Networking

In early 2020 NVIDIA completed the acquisition of Mellanox, and in the second half of 2020 the rebranding of Mellanox solutions under the NVIDIA banner began. XENON has long been a supplier of Mellanox switches, NICs and cables – importing the very first units into Australia over 10 years ago.

The Mellanox technology stack has been a key part of XENON’s high performance computing solutions. The Mellanox team has always pushed the boundaries of performance and low latency networking and been at the leading edge of high performance networking. We expect this innovation to continue and even accelerate now that Mellanox is part of NVIDIA. For example, key Mellanox technology is being incorporated into NVIDIA solutions like the DGX A100, resulting in tightly integrated GPU compute and networking solutions.

As part of the rebranding of Mellanox, the business is now called NVIDIA Mellanox. Individual product range names have remained – for example if you are looking for a Spectrum switch, they are still called Spectrum switches. They are just NVIDIA Spectrum switches now. Similarly the BlueField NICs are NVIDIA BlueField NICs.

Also in the middle of 2020, NVIDIA acquired Cumulus. NVIDIA has followed a similar branding model for Cumulus, which is now known as NVIDIA Cumulus.

NVIDIA has also created a new division to lead both solutions to market – NVIDIA Networking.

XENON will be updating our website and the online Shop @ XENON to reflect these changes.

In the meantime, if you need help sourcing the right NVIDIA Networking solution for your requirements, please reach out to our team and we’ll be able to help you today!
