Thank You Griffith Uni AI in Research Symposium
05 Nov 2025
Last week’s AI in Research Symposium, hosted by Griffith University, brought together researchers, technologists and industry partners to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping research and innovation across disciplines.
XENON was proud to support the event, joining Griffith’s eResearch Services team and the wider research community for a full day of presentations, workshops and live demonstrations focused on practical, ethical and high-performance applications of AI in research.
From keynotes on the global AI landscape and governance to hands-on sessions on AI for research productivity, attendees had the opportunity to explore how emerging technologies can drive discovery and efficiency across academia.
During the event, XENON showcased the new GIGABYTE AI TOP ATOM, powered by the NVIDIA® Grace Blackwell GB10 Superchip — demonstrating data-centre-class AI capability in a compact desktop system. The AI TOP ATOM delivered a live example of large language model inference running locally, showing how next-generation hardware can bring advanced AI research right to the desktop.
Speakers and sessions covered a wide range of themes including:
- Advances in generative AI and research tools
- Responsible AI and governance in academia
- High-performance systems for model training and experimentation
- Collaboration across institutions and disciplines
The symposium highlighted the strength of Australia’s research ecosystem and the growing collaboration between universities and technology partners to enable safe, powerful and scalable AI research.
We would like to thank the Griffith University eResearch Services team for organising an outstanding program and everyone who joined us to share ideas and explore the future of AI in research.
At XENON, we remain committed to empowering researchers through high-performance computing, AI infrastructure and data management solutions — from desktop AI systems to full-scale HPC clusters.
