Pawsey SuperComputers and Data Storage Systems
A fantastic video done by the AIIA has recently been shared by the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, explaining what a SuperComputer is and how research is driven by high performance computing and data storage systems.
Located in Perth, Pawsey is dedicated to providing computational power that unlocks discoveries and accelerates research, ultimately making a positive impact on society.
XENON takes pride in being a key partner of Pawsey, supplying them with both computational and visualization capabilities through the “Topaz” system.
Additionally, XENON supports Pawsey with their high throughput data archival and retrieval needs through the “Banksia” system.
The video below is about the the Pawsey supercomputer, “Setonix”, which is both energy efficient and powerful. When it started in production, it was the 4th most energy efficient SuperComputer in the world, and in the top 15 most powerful in the World.
